Washing a heated vest or bodywarmer

The Høgge for women and men is machine washable. Take the power bank out and check the pockets. On the Høgge for women the power bank sits in the front pocket, so that is the one to empty.

The Høgge² connects to the power bank via USB-A. Unplug it, take the power bank out, close the cable pocket, and the vest can go in the washing machine.

A vest worn over a shirt does not need a wash after every outing. Airing it is often enough. Comparing models? See the heated vest comparison.

Washing a heated fleece

The Wøley follows the same steps. Remove the power bank, empty the chest pocket and use a wash bag. Air-dry it and follow the care label.

Washing a heated jacket or parka

The Pølar parka connects to the power bank via USB-C. Unplug it, take the power bank out and close the cable pocket. Then wash the parka in a wash bag on a gentle cycle at 30 °C at most.

A parka holds a lot of water. Hang it in an airy room and give it time. Feel the lining before you reconnect: the inside has to be dry too.

Washing the Øney heating insert

Disconnect the power bank and take the insert off the Velcro strips. Wash it like a vest: wash bag, gentle cycle, 30 °C at most, or by hand. Then air-dry it.

The adhesive strips stay in your jacket; for the jacket, follow its own care label. Does a strip no longer hold afterwards? Øney extra patches come as a set of eight Velcro strips. How the insert works is explained in make your own jacket heated.

Washing heated gloves

Take both batteries out of the Øven gloves before anything else. Put the gloves in a wash bag and wash them on a gentle cycle at 30 °C at most, or by hand.

The thick lining takes its time to dry. Preferably do not wring them. Let the gloves air-dry, and check that the inside of every finger is dry before the batteries go back in. More on glove types in our heated gloves comparison.

What to avoid

  • The tumble dryer. Heated clothing air-dries.
  • Washing with the power bank or batteries inside. Check the pockets first.

The power bank itself never goes in water. More on handling power banks in is heated clothing safe?
