Best Heated Jacket for Women 2026: Parka, Vest or Heating Insert?

Updated: October 2026 · By Sebastiaan, founder of Gløde · 7 min read

Three ways to a warm coat.

In short: there are three ways to get a heated jacket for women. A heated parka such as Pølar is the complete winter coat, with six heating zones up to 60 °C, but it runs shorter on one charge. A heated vest under your own coat is the most versatile and runs about twice as long. A heating insert turns the jacket you already love into a heated one. Which is best depends on how long you are outside and which coat you want to wear.

Heated jacket types in general

Long parka

A long heated parka covers your hips and upper legs, so it holds more warmth when you stand still. It is also the heaviest choice, and often too much for a brisk walk.

Short jacket

A short heated jacket is easier to move, cycle and drive in, but it covers less of you. Gløde does not sell one. A heated vest under your own short jacket does a similar job.

Built in or added later

Built-in heating is part of the design, but tied to that one coat. Heating you add yourself keeps your own coat and style. How well it works depends on the fit of that coat.

Solution 1: a heated parka

Pølar is a heated parka for women with six heating zones and three heat levels, up to 60 °C. It is water-repellent and windproof, with a reflective thermal lining and a rain hood.

Now the honest part: the parka runs shorter than a vest. Expect about 1.5–3 hours on a 10,000 mAh power bank and about 3–6 hours on a 20,000 mAh power bank. For a whole day outside, use a 20,000 mAh power bank and the lower levels. Pølar connects via USB-C.

Choose the parka if you want one coat that does everything, and if you stand still a lot: on the sideline, at the market, at the bus stop. More on non-heated coats in our guide to the warmest winter jacket.

Solution 2: a heated vest under your own coat

A heated vest sits close to your body, under the coat you already have. It runs longer than the parka: 3–6 hours on the small power bank and 6–12 hours on the large one. You can also wear it indoors, in a cold office or on the sofa.

Høgge for women has five heating zones and three heat levels up to 50 °C. You set front and back separately with two buttons. A power bank is included, small or large, and its second USB port can charge your phone. The hood is detachable and the vest is water-repellent.

Høgge² also has five zones and three levels, and it warms up within seconds. It is sold with a small or a large power bank and connects via USB-A. We state no maximum temperature for this model, and front and back are not set separately.

The downside of any vest: your arms are not heated, and you still need a coat over it in wind and rain. All vest models side by side: our heated vest comparison.

Solution 3: make your own jacket heated

Øney is a universal heating insert. It attaches inside your own jacket or vest with adhesive Velcro strips, without sewing, in about a minute. Four heating elements warm chest, belly and back, on three levels up to 50 °C. Øney runs on 5 V USB and has overheating protection.

It suits jackets with a little room and a pocket for the power bank, not very tight ones. Read how it works in make your own jacket heated.

Which solution for which situation?

  • Standing still for hours, one coat for everything: the Pølar parka with a 20,000 mAh power bank.
  • Commute, dog walk, office, sofa: a heated vest. It goes under every coat and works indoors.
  • Yard work and riding: a vest, because your arms stay free. See heated clothing for horse riding.
  • A favourite wool coat or waxed jacket: Øney, so the coat stays the same on the outside.

Power bank and runtime

Our 10,000 mAh power bank weighs 150 g, the 20,000 mAh one 350 g. Both have USB-A and USB-C ports, so they fit the parka and the vests, and both can charge a phone too. The highest level gives the shortest runtime in each range. More in our power bank guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best heated jacket for women?

It depends on how you want to wear the warmth. A heated parka is the complete winter coat. A heated vest under your own coat is the most versatile and runs longest on one charge. A heating insert makes a jacket you already own heated.

Is a heated jacket or a heated vest better?

A heated jacket warms and protects in one garment, so it suits long, cold days outside. A heated vest works under any coat and indoors too, and it runs about twice as long on the same power bank.

How long does a heated jacket stay warm?

The Pølar parka runs about 1.5–3 hours on a 10,000 mAh power bank and about 3–6 hours on a 20,000 mAh power bank. Gløde heated vests give 3–6 hours and 6–12 hours with the same power banks, depending on the heat level.

How hot does a heated jacket get?

The Pølar parka has three heat levels and heats up to 60 °C. The Høgge vest and the Øney insert have three levels up to 50 °C.

Can you wash a heated jacket?

Yes. Remove the power bank first. Then machine or hand wash at a maximum of 30 °C on a gentle cycle, in a wash bag. Let it air-dry and do not tumble dry. Always follow the care label.

Can I make my own coat heated?

Yes. Øney is a heating insert that attaches inside your own jacket or vest with adhesive Velcro strips, without sewing. It warms chest, belly and back. Your coat needs some room and a pocket for the power bank.
